Privacy
Short version: the site keeps only what draws your cards, encrypted. The web server also keeps the usual short-lived visit logs, described below. Last changed 2026-10-31.
What is stored
- The pact: the name on the card, family names, how they are related, phone numbers, the house rules you ticked, your own rules, trusted numbers, and the practice log. It is stored encrypted; the database never holds it as plain text.
- In the site's database: a fingerprint (SHA-256) of the private link and of any family link, not the links themselves. The web server's visit logs are different: see below.
- Daily counters to stop abuse, keyed by a salted fingerprint of your network address and deleted after 3 days.
What is not
No accounts, no email addresses, no family question or answer, no advertising or tracking code, no cookies on the public pages. Forms use one short-lived security cookie so nobody else can submit them for you.
How long
Until you delete the pact (the delete button on the pact page removes it at once), or 400 days after it was last opened. Server backups can hold an encrypted copy for a while after that: the nightly ones are kept 14 days, and a few copies made around each update of the site are replaced as newer ones are made.
The web server's visit logs
Like nearly every website, the web server writes one line for each page it sends: the time, your network (IP) address, your browser type, and the address of the page. For a pact page that address contains the private link (or the family link). These logs never hold what is written in the pact.
- They stay on our server. Only WeldonPC.com's server administrators can read them; they are not shared or sold.
- The server turns them into visit counts about once a day and then clears them. This site's hosting account is set not to keep monthly archive copies.
- The visit counts are kept on the same server and can list page addresses, so a private link may appear there too. Only WeldonPC.com can see them.
- We never use these logs to open anyone's pact. If you think someone has your link, delete the pact and start a new one: the old link then stops working.
Who sees it
Only people who have the link, and WeldonPC.com when running the server. We never sell or share it. The site's own error logs never hold the pact's contents and are deleted after 30 days.
